New characters suggestion thread.

You have an idea to make the game better? Post it here.

New characters suggestion thread.

Hey there.

If you have a great idea for an additional Magi character, then feel free to post it here.

Everything counts - graphic style, theme, name, skillset with description. Feel free to use yor imagination to the fullest - maybe something you came with, will be used in the next version of the game.

New characters will be added in updates after the release of the full version

I think 10 characters is a good number. I don't think there really needs to be more than that. But if you do want more, my only idea is to add some sort of "druid" - i.e. nature themed - character. I think that's just about the only area that isn't already covered.

I think if you try to add too many characters, some of them will just seem redundant and/or useless.

I like to think that more is always better - and believe me - there is no need to put redundant classes, there are still great ideas to add. Like suggestions that I've got on GMC - most of them were actually quite good.

Anyway - I don't plan adding new characters anytime soon, but if someone will come up with a really brilliant idea, then things could change.

i don't know if you already have this but you could add some mystical entity type thing which you get after you beat death
...or even death itself as a character

Hmm... Idea of unlockable character class after beating the death is an interesting one. Will think about it.

Yeah - it's a good idea. Something I'll definetly hold in my mind for future updates.

Sort of "Immortal" characer could be really great reward for copleting the game.

So you want more than 10 characters?
Maybe you right... 10 is few... You need several (15-20), In normally games its more then 60, but here you should do at least 15-20... ;)
And what ideas you have for the names and magics? I have few if you want:
1. Preist <-- One that can heal to MaxHP at once, Add over than 500 MaxHP, Every time cost magic it's adds 5 HP. ;)
2. Mage <-- One that can Stop the enemy for 1 magic (you cost this magic so your enemy will not move until you cost your second magic), Steal magics (for 3 times, when your enemy create a magic you steal it and the enemy lose it), Remove half from the enemy HP not Max HP!. (If the enemy has 200 HP so it remove 100 and not 250 from 500!!!)
3. Sorcerer <-- On that can Attack 5 FireBalls at once, Attack one big Lightning (Attack all, remove between 50-80), And Upgrade the FireBall attack (Now when everytime you will use FireBall, so it will attack more than it attack normally just by 30 damage plus)
That's all, i hope i say all correct! :)

I'm afraid your suggestions' names are too similar to the existing ones: Priest - Archpriest, Mage - Magus, Sorcerer - Sorceress. Of course, names can be changed.

Here is a list of some names, without descriptions or skills:
Druid
Summoner
Wizard
Conjurer
Enchanter
Spellcaster
Elementalist
Shaman
Cleric
Illusionist
Prophet
Theurgist
Thaumaturgist
Invoker

Maybe you should remove the title system? I know that at laest conjurer and wizard are possible titles, so they couldn't be classes.

I like the idea of druids. I have a suggestion for their abilities. This is just the idea, and I don't know how well it would work with the set variables:
Edge: Incantation
1) Herblaw - instantly heals health (around 40?) and removes all curses and negative effects from you and your summoned monster.
2) Force of nature - destroys/deals heavy damage to magical shields and all non-living creatures
3) Naturalism - closes two of both players' red, blue and gray channels.

Also, I would like to see a gray magic user. The two classes with communion edge - witch and archmage - is based more on summoning. What do you think of this idea? Maybe something for a shaman class, with dark rituals etc.?

I agree that the game needs some Curse-based Communer. I'm planning to add a VooDoo priest to fill that gap. You know - a big black man with fancy hat - like the one from the James Bond movie ;). I also have ideas for all his powers.

Actually I might say that I have ideas for all of the 5 new character classes I'm going to add soon after the premiere.

Ha ha, no I'm going to share a little secret with you all  : one of the new characters will be (probably, that is, if Tom doesn't change his mind) a Vampire. Well, exactly a female Vampire. Is there any word for "female vampire"? Vampiress?
Visually I'm planning her to be something like: Coppola's "Dracula" meets Mia Farrow from "Rosemary's Baby" :).
Yes, she's still alive.

Off Topic: Will there be mini bosses?

Will Dracula be an unlockable character? It would be a good idea.

Nah - she (vampiress) will be just normal Resistance based char (altough I like the idea of unlockables and mini-bosses).

Well... if Dormouse revealed one of the planned new classes, then I might aswell tell you about the rest of 'em.

Here's who I want to add:

Vampiress: undead lady in white garment.

Resistance

Form of Mist - invunerability for a short period time.

Bat Swarm - similiar to normal Swarm, but steals some life for the Vamipress.

Drain Life - sucks the Health from the enemy (barriers doesn't matter)

Anti-mage: tatooed and naked tribal-style guy.

Intellect

Dispell Shield - deals huge damage to the enemy's Shield.

Backlash - deals damage for every enchantment/curse enemy has.

Destroy Magic - ends the duration of all of the enemy's curses/enchants and destroys the Shield. Chance of success.

Electrician: - modern guy with coat and googles.

Force

Static Charge - some damage to the opponent.

Battery - boosts Incantation, but ends if you cast anything other than Offensive spell.

Dunno - I don't know yet ;). Ideas are welcome...

VooDoo: - big, black and mean voodoo priest.

Communion

Hex - casting a curse on the opponent will cause some damage.

Dunno - I don't know - maybe just an Incantation lowering curse. Suggestions welcome...

Hate - curse that makes enemy slowly lose Health. Sort of additional, unblockable poison.

I'm still not sure about the last, Incantation-based character. Someone on GMC suggested a Chronomancer - it's a nice idea, but I'm open for others.

Neat ideas you got there, especially the vampiress.

Anti-mage is a pretty lame name in my opinion, what about something like Magesbane? :)

Electrician... I don't know, it sounds kinda funny to me, like if there was a plumber in the game for example. Also I'm not sure I like the idea of having characters which by their name and looks seem totally non-magical. Technolich is still a lich at least, and I would keep him as a rarity (in the sense of being modern or sci-fi-ish). And I think the electrician casting ordinary spells would seem weird. A sort of lightning semi-mage would do the job better.

Instead of Static Charge, which is pretty boring, there could be:
Charged Touch (I can't think of a better name) - when enemy's summon hits you or your shield, he recieves some lightning damage. And/or - when your summon hits the enemy or his shield, they recieve an additional lightning damage. Uh, I see it's becoming too complicated, but you could take some idea from it. :)

As for the VooDoo man, doesn't the witch already have a skill named Hex?
The second skill could be something like this:
VooDoo figurine (again, can't think of a less lame name right now) - creates a special summon which does nothing, but all damage it recieves is also dealt to the enemy. It could have like 80 health points - perhaps affected by Communion...?

Sorry if this post was written too hastily but I'm going to a ball in half an hour.

Thunderlord is a better name.
I have an idea for his 3rd ability - electoduce. An improoved Dissonance, that maybe deals extra damage and lasts longer. And I agree that the Static Charge is boring... it could be like Ansgar said, if the enemy summon hits you directly, it takes damage.

The names (of classes and skills) might change - I agree that Anti-mage is a lame name - MageBane is definetely better.

And I thought that Electrician (name prone to change) would be sort of mad-scientist/steampunk mystic. I never considered MAGI universe to be set in ancient (or medieval) times and I want to have another character (other than the Technolich) to back this up.

Your skill ideas are very good - I'll think of something similiar to them.

EDIT:

Thunderlord would be good for some kind of classical mage. It doesn't fit the modern style of this class imho.

Static Charge might be indeed boring. I thought that the game lacks simple and effective skill, but I guess you guys are right. I'll try to think about something else.
